Definition of Parties

These terms of service define the relationship between you and us. In the following, we refer to you as the user or simply as you, and to us as the service, the service provider, or simply as we/us. You can use our service under these terms, and only under these terms, without any exceptions.

Intended Use

The service is intended for creating LaTeX documents. Users are entitled to use it for that purpose, and only for that purpose. Other uses are not permitted.

The service must not be used or accessed in any other way than manually through our website, and in particular not by means of automated ("scripted") access, web crawlers, spiders, bots, AI agents, and the like.

The service must not be used for activities that are unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, pornographic, sexually explicit or violent, indecent, false, defamatory, derogatory, threatening, obscene, abusive, offensive, hateful, infringe or violate another's rights, or advocate such acts.

User Accounts

Each user is identified by an account. Accounts are personalized. Only natural persons (no organizations, etc.) are eligible for registering accounts. Users are eligible for registering a single account per person for their own use, and under their own control. Accounts must not be registered for others, and they cannot be transferred to others. Users are responsible for providing correct and accurate personal data, like name, street and email address.

Users are responsible for keeping their accounts safe. This entails in particular the choice of a sufficiently safe password, which shall be stored in a safe manner (if at all), and which shall in no event be revealed to others.

The service may interrupt, block, or terminate user accounts at any time with or without prior notice, and with or without providing a reason. The violation of applicable law or these Terms or Service are possible reasons for blocking or terminating accounts. By using the service the user agrees to indemnify us from any liability for any damage, direct or indirect, caused by such measures.

User Content

Users can create and join projects, containing any number of files. These projects and files, their contents and meta data, are collectively referred to as user content. By writing or uploading or otherwise transferring (collectively referred to as posting) content to our service, users acknowledge full responsibility for the content. They are responsible for ensuring that the act of posting content does not violate any laws of rights of others, including but not limited to copyright and trademarks.

The service provider has no responsibility whatsoever for checking user content, to the largest extent permitted under applicable law and our Terms of Service. To report content you believe is illegal or violates our Terms, please use our contact form. Please include project owner and project title, a description of the content, and the reason for your report.

Users are aware of the following facts, and by using the service they agree to all of the following. Project owners have the ability to share all user content in a project with other users. They also have the ability to remove users from a project, which immediately stops their ability to access the user content. Therefore, unless a user is the project owner, the group with whom the content is shared now or in the future is not under the control of the user, and the user may lose access to a project at any time. Other users may alter or delete user content. Such user actions are generally considered legitimate use of the service. Users are also aware of the ability of other users to download user content and to share and distribute it further outside the scope and control of the service. Users are responsible for sharing user content only if they are entitled to do so. The service provider is in no way liable for user actions.

Quotas

User content is subject to quotas. All user content counts towards the quota of the account owning the project. There are separate quotas for the total amount of storage, and for the size of editable documents. Editable documents are identified by their file extension.

If the required amount of space exceeds the available quota then the functionality of the account and all of the projects it owns is restricted by the service until the problem is resolved. Project owners are aware of the fact that all edits and uploads done by other users they invite to their projects count towards their quota.

Availability

Our service is available only in certain countries. The list of countries is subject to change. It is not permitted to use technical means to circumvent this limitation.

The service provider cannot guarantee the availability of the service and the managed user data. Possible causes of failing to do so are hardware failure, software bugs, force majeure, regulatory changes, and any other cause at the discretion of the service provider.

The service is provided AS IS and AS AVAILABLE. It may be interrupted or permanently stopped and terminated at any time. The interruption or termination may affect only certain groups of users or only certain geographic regions. In case of interruption or termination we will make an effort to make your user content available to you by reasonable means and within a reasonable time frame. However, that effort may fail. Therefore, you, the user, are advised to and sole responsible for backing up your user content on a regular basis.

By using the service the user agrees to indemnify us from any liability for any damage, direct or indirect, caused to, the user, their subsidiaries or any third party by the unavailability of the service.

Consumer dispute resolution

We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Changes of the Terms of Service

Our terms may be revised and changed. Such changes will be made visible on our website. Depending on the type of change, we may or may not notify you via email. If you do not agree to such changes then please close your account and stop using our service.

Severability Clause

If a provision of these terms is or becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that shall not affect:
